In June 1968, the Singapore government introduced this pools betting system. A punter could buy a couple with a table of 49 numbers and crosses out six numbers and win a top prize of $500,000 for a 50-cent stake.
"Toto" was based on a Bulgarians system and worked on a similar principle as the popular numbers game, "Lotto" or the British game "bingo".
