A publication put out by the Singapore Planning and Urban Research Group (SPUR), which was founded in 1965 by architects and planners of a new independent nation. On its cover (front and back) featured an aerial photograph of the Singapore Business Centre and Telok Ayer Basin.
The group set out to study planning issues, develop a strategy for development as well as to promote the science of planning. Its highly critical views of the government's urban policy, however, led to its eventually dissolution in 1973.
This publication was the first of two publications put out by SPUR to disseminate the group's ideas and writings.
