In 1969, Singapore commemorated the 150th years since it was founded by the British. Even though it had by then attained independence, the ruling People's Action Party did not reject its colonial past but instead used it strategically to emphasise the island's long economic success. This poster outlined Singapore's key economic achievements over the last 150 years of its existence.
