The 332-page issue looks back at the various experimental processes used to produce WERK since it was launched in 2000. It was stained with ink and oils collected from the printing process to create the unique colours and textures and even scent of printing machines. This issue was released in 2012, in conjunction with an exhibition on the magazine at Japan’s ginza graphic gallery.

The magazine won a D&AD Wood Pencil Award in 2013.
