The exhibition was the inaugural event at the Alpha Gallery's new premises at 211 Upper Bukit Timah Road. It featured 25 works by 8 artists, including Choy Weng Yang, Goh Beng Kwan, Anthony Poon, Tan Teo Kwang, Tay Chee Toh, Teo Eng Seng, Gavid Waddell and Yeo Hoe Koon. According to art critic T.K. Sabapathy, the exhibition revealed that "modernism is well and very much alive in Singapore."
