In 1984, the Ministry of National Development held a month-long exhibition at the World Trade Centre to portray the experience, struggle and achievements of Singapore since it became a self-governing state in 1959. The catalogue capture the highlights of the exhibition's various themes, including the nation's political history to its physical development.

There was also an accompanying poster.
