The Field Howitzer 88 (FH-88) was the first artillery gun designed in Singapore.
It was a 155mm calibre gun, a range of 40 kilometres and came with an engine for driving away after shooting the enemy. While typical artillery detachments needed six to nine men because of the heavy load ammunition, the FH-88 had a hydraulic carrier which required only three men.
It was named after the year it was made operational in the Singapore Armed Forces in 1988.
