The number "40" is used to mark 40 years of Singapore's nationhood, and embodies the importance of every individual’s contributions in shaping the nation.
Made up of a crescent moon with five stars in flight, it represents a nation moving ahead with promise, hope and determination. The red, orange and golden yellow colours portray a vibrant and progressive nation, while the tagline in black depicts boldness, unity and resilience in the face of challenge. The handwritten strokes are simple and clear so as to be easily understood by all Singaporeans.
