The identity comprises the name DesignSingapore Council and an arc graphic, together forming a ‘D’ symbol. It reflects the organisation’s unique personality.
A logo competition was originally held for full-time students enrolled in design and/or marketing communications programmes in Singapore. The winner was promised a cash prize of $2,000.
The DesignSingapore Council was established in 2003 to help develop the nation’s design sector. This follows from the Economic Review Committee’s report which identified the creative industry as one of the three new sectors (including education and healthcare) for economic growth.
