In response to the lack of "products of local flavour other than Merlion keychains", designer Hans Tan and creative agency FARM invited 40 creatives based in Singapore to create an original collection of products for the Singapore Art Museum (SAM). Each creative, ranging from product and graphic designers to architects and also photographers and artists, was assigned one of eight product types to work that resulted in the collection titled "MADE FOR SAM".
The products—erasers, greeting cards, pencil cases, mugs, tote bags, rulers, pins and piggy banks—were exhibited at the museum and also made available for sale.
