An invite for the inaugural exhibition of Alpha Gallery addressed to Mrs Hedwig Anuar, then director of the National Library of Singapore.

The modern art gallery was started by 10 artists and architect Lim Chong Keat at 7 Alexandra Road. This exhibition from 18 to 30 October featured the works of Abdul Latif, Cheong Soo Pieng, Choy Weng Yang, Goh Beng Kwan, Khoo Sui-hoe, Liu Kang, Loo Foh Sang, Qwek Wee Chew, Tay Chee Toh, Arthur Yap, Yeo Hoe Koon and Thomas Yeo.
