Ming Court Hotel was officially opened in 1970 and part of the Goodwood Group of Hotels. The 350-room hotel which towers 15-storeys was popularly known as the "Inn for Emperors" and had a ancient Chinese theme. The logo was designed by Eulindra Lim.
In 1987, the hotel was acquired by the Far East Organization and in 1991, it was renamed Orchard Parade Hotel.
