Such matchboxes featuring animals in the zoo followed the success of a similar 1971 series created for Jurong Bird Park. The attraction then worked with Mr. Tay Thian Song and Golden Light Matches Company to produce matchbooks featuring its birds, which even won second prize at the 31st Annual Rathkamp Matchover Society Convention in San Diego.
