In the 1970s, Singapore's pioneering art school, the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), faced the possibility of closure due to financial difficulties. After an appeal by principal Lim Yew Kuan for NAFA graduates to save their alma mater, a group led by Song Chew Him organised a charity art exhibition to raise funds.
This catalogue documents the history of the school, its list of graduates since the 1940s and contains various essays on NAFA's contribution and future plans. It included the transcript of an interview with the Radio and Television of Singapore where its new Applied Arts course was discussed. The course was organised and taught by alumni including Yah Chin Tong (易振东), Li Peicheng (黎培成), Tan Ping Chiang (陈彬章) and Sim Kok Huoy (沈国华).
