Established in 1991, Zouk introduced House music to local shores and quickly became known as the hotspot for Singapore's creative scene. The nightclub also distinguished itself with irreverent and cheeky marketing materials designed by its in-house marketing team that captured the zeitgeist of the nineties and noughties.
The flyer features the album cover of FLAVA, a CD released by Zouk featuring funk, R&B and hip hop music mixed by Andrew Chow. It was the company's first collaboration with Universal Music and Chivas Regal. According to the designer James King, he took five samples of diamonds with different reflected facets and studded the logo, adding a solid matte gold rim and the background of exotic softees.
