The logo was in use since the hospital's founding in 1985 until 2019, when it was replaced by a new identity designed by Activiste.

The rebranding reflected its growth from a public hospital into a public healthcare cluster comprising relevant schools of the National University of Singapore and the hospital at Kent Ridge, JurongHealth and Alexandra Campuses, the National University Polyclinics, as well as four academic health science institutions spanning primary to tertiary care.
