Logo for a car inspection centre

Designer
Client
Singapore Labour Foundation
Year
1981

Created for a car inspection centre, the logo is both a "correct tick" to symbolise the passing of car inspection and the alphabet "V". Each of the lanes represents the four main racial groups in Singapore.

The centre wholly owned by the Singapore Labour Foundation was set up because the government introduced legislation for compulsory inspection of all private cars. It originally organised a competition for the logo. However, the entries were unsuitable and they sought out William Lee to design it instead.
