Architects Team 3 was founded by partnership of Inche Baharuddin Abu Kassim, Mr Lim Chin See and Mr Lim Chong Keat. It was the successor to Malayan Architects Co-partnership, which Chong Keat started in 1960 with William Lim and Chen Voon Fee.

One of the first major projects the firm won after its restructuring was the design competition for Jurong Town Hall in 1969.

The firm was corporatised in 1994 and eventually registered as Architects Team 3 Pte Ltd in August 2006.
