The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) embarked on a rebrand as part of its transformation in the late 1990s from a charitable foundation into a healthcare institution dedicated to treatment, prevention, education and research.
Then NKF creative associate Alvin Lim and his team created this logotype with the initials of the organisation. The design used a bold red form to project vitality, compassion, and human connection, while its clean lines conveyed movement, progress, and purpose. It replaced a previous logo also based on NKF's initials and in red.
The logo began appearing in NKF advertisements in 2000 and was also installed on its new headquarters in Kim Keat Road when ready in 2001. It remains in use up till today.
