Originally created for Pasir Ris Town Council, this logo depicts a new waterfront town sailing towards a better future. The rising sun in the background signifies the youthful population. These were both features of the new town.
In 2002, this logo was adopted by Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council. The newly formed town council took over the functions of Pasir Ris Town Council and Cheng San Town Council with the re-drawing of the electoral boundaries for the 2001 general elections.
