This stylised representation of the letter 'N' is in the shape of a fresh green leaf, symbolising the potential and hope for the newly formed organisation to develop, protect and promote Singapore's national parks. The central line of this motif points upwards to represent the plant's reach for the sun to grow. The logo is accompanied by blue lettering, a colour which is traditionally associated with scientific research, sky and water.
This logo was the grand prize winner of a competition sponsored by BP Singapore. The designer, Mr Lionel Low Wai Chin, received $5,000 for his work.
